Creative Health Impact Framework
A collaborative approach to well-being in south east London
New tools to support arts, cultural, and VCSE organisations to evidence and communicate the impact of their work.
Across London, arts, cultural, and VCSE organisations are delivering activities that have a huge impact on people’s health, supporting people who experience health inequalities, and improving the lives of many across the city every day.
This Social Prescribing Day, 19 March 2025, London Plus has launched a new series of tools to support organisations across the capital to plan for, evidence, and communicate this impact to health partners in relation to inequalities and health improvement.
The Creative Health Impact Framework, which was commissioned by London Plus and funded by The Greater London Authority, has been developed by Creative Health Consultant Jane Willis in collaboration with Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE), arts, cultural, and health partners from across South East London.
It is a free, open-access resource that is aimed at VCSE, arts, and cultural organisations delivering arts, creative and cultural programmes that support health and wellbeing, working with commissioners/funders.
There is longstanding and increasing recognition that health outcomes are impacted by the wider social determinants of health and are worsening because of increasing inequalities across society (1). The recent introduction of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) offers a valuable opportunity for cross-sector approaches to tackling inequalities and improving health outcomes.
VCSE, arts, and cultural organisations play a key role in this, collaborating with health partners to address wider social determinants of health. Creative approaches support people to live well, improve health and wellbeing, and reduce health inequalities.
