Unlocking neighbourhood data
for VCSE organisations
VCSE organisations play a vital role in supporting communities, but often do not have access to the same data and intelligence as NHS, local authority and commissioning partners. At the SEL VCSE Strategic Alliance, we know how important access to data is in helping organisations better understand the needs of the communities they serve and strengthen the voice of the VCSE sector. That's why we're so excited to share the new London Neighbourhood Data Explorer.
Developed by PPL in partnership with all London ICBs and VCSE Alliances, this free online tool brings together population data and makes it accessible at neighbourhood level.
The Explorer allows users to:
• View all neighbourhoods in London through an interactive map
• Explore population, ethnicity, deprivation and health data for each neighbourhood
• Compare levels of need within neighbourhoods, boroughs and Integrated Care System footprints
• Benchmark neighbourhoods against borough and London averages
• Identify patterns, inequalities and emerging needs
• Export insights and charts into PowerPoint presentations
Access to neighbourhood-level intelligence can help VCSE organisations better understand local needs, evidence impact, and ensure the sector's voice is informed by both data and lived experience.
