Be King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector Strategic Lead

Thanks to funding from South East London Integrated Care Board (SEL ICB), King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with South East London Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (SEL VCSE) Strategic Alliance, are looking for a passionate, community-rooted VCSE leader to take on a brand-new opportunity that will help shape how King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust works with the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector across south east London.

This is a unique opportunity for a local VCSE leader to bring sector insight and specialism into the heart of the Trust’s decision-making.  

You’ll be working closely with colleagues from across the Trust, South East London Integrated Care System and the VCSE sector, supporting King’s College Hospital to:

  • Bring a consistent, holistic VCSE lens into the development of the Trust’s strategy and service transformation
  • Strengthen the Trust’s relationships with local VCSE sector, particularly with grassroots ‘By and For’ VCSEs which are embedded within underserved communities and groups.
  • Champion inclusive, VCSE and community-led approaches to reducing health inequalities, helping the trust ensure underrepresented communities are at the heart of how we design and deliver care.  

We are looking for someone who is embedded in south east London's VCSE sector (and is currently employed within a local VCSE organisation), who can bring sector expertise into the heart of the Trust - confidently navigating cross-sector systems and championing inclusive, community-led approaches to healthcare.

Time commitment: 1 day a week plus 14 days a year for training and development. Fixed term for one year.  

Funding: £260 per day (£17,160) + £3630 for employing VCSE overhead cost.  

Total funding available: £20,790.

The full funding amount will be paid to the employing VCSE organisation, and they will be the one paying the successful candidate

Location: You will be based at King’s College Hospital site in Denmark Hill once a week + occasional attendance at community events and training
